High Paying Remote Jobs with Limited Experience
Every week people ask me how to find a remote job without experience.
They also don’t want to be paid in peanuts…
I’m here to tell you it’s possible to get a high paying job with limited experience if you’re willing to do the work.
In this post, I’ll go through 6 different remote jobs that have entry level salaries above 50k per year with limited experience requirements.
Note: When I say limited experience, I don’t mean EASY .
I just mean that these jobs can be accessible through education, certifications, and bootcamps rather than needing experience itself as a prerequisite.
So whether you’re introverted, extroverted, creative or analytical, there will be something in this list for you, let’s go!
1. QA Engineer
$70,000+ Per Year
Now, when I hear the word Engineer I immediately think of technical geniuses in turtlenecks who talk in a language close to English but not quite understandable
But QA simply stands for Quality Assurance.
QA Engineers (or Software Testers) just make sure websites and mobile apps work as expected.
They search for errors and bugs and report them to development teams.
All tech companies require QA Engineers to prevent issues.
This role is actually a lot less technical than I thought it was, but you do need to gain knowledge of software testing methodologies and tools.
2. UX Designer
$98,000+ Per Year
UX Designers create the experience for users interacting with digital tools.
If you’ve ever wondered why a button on an app was somewhere that seemed stupid, they probably need a good UX designer.
This kind of role is best for people who are already design oriented.
To get a job in UX you’ll need to learn design principles and software through online resources or bootcamps.
Now, if you're in a situation where you can't land a remote job the primary reason might be because you’re not skilled enough.
That’s just the facts…
And that’s OK.
If you’re not technical, up-leveling your skills is the main way you can become more competitive for a remote job in roles like Quality assurance and UX design.
I recommend taking a look at a learning platform called Careerist:
They will help you even if you have no experience in tech at all
They teach you what you need to know to land a well-paid job with limited experience
And they specialize in roles like QA and UX Design
Their graduates are working in 1000+ companies in 40 states and you can get a 10% discount on the course of your choice using Carroll10 on their website.
3. Copywriter or Copyeditor
$52,000+ Per Year
Now, obviously, you need to be a decent writer and have a grasp on the english language for this one.
BUT, with the rise of robots who make it really easy to write and edit copy, this may be your way to cheat the system.
On the other hand, these robots might also be the thing that eventually replace you in a profession like this, I guess we’ll see …
4. Social Media Marketing Manager
$52,000+ Per Year
This is pretty self-explanatory – you’ll be managing a company's social media, creating content, and analyzing engagement metrics.
This is a great job for someone that already has fun creating for their own social accounts.
It is different though, your ability to speak as a brand is often a completely different audience and tone than a personal account, so keep that in mind.
My recommendation is make friends with business owners, create some work samples for them, and see if you can land a client.
5. Community Manager
$52,000+ Per Year
A community manager is responsible for building relationships with a community - whether creating content, engaging, or moderating.
I personally think this is great for people who are already part of communities they are passionate about in a specific industry, or for a brand, product or interest area.
My recommendation is to choose something you’re already interested in, or a community you’re already part of because that passion will help you articulate your value and you already know a lot about the user base.
6. Data Analyst
$71,000+ Per Year
This is another one that if you’re technically minded, or number oriented, it could be the career of your wet dreams.
Data analysts help inform decision making using tools to extract, visualize, and analyze data.
You’ll obviously need to learn data analysis tools, statistics, and some programming.
But there are a lot of options online to get started with this, one of the best being the Google Data Analytics Certificate.
7. Conclusion
